The 7th annual Chocolate Edition from Douglas Laing’s Scallywag Scotch whisky. The 2024 edition goes where no fox terrier has gone before by finishing the blend of Speyside malts predominately in Port casks, ramping up the chocolatey-ness. Which is definitely a word.
Nose : Demerara sugar, forest fruit, dark chocolate, and nutmeg.
Palate : Chocolate-coated raspberries, cinnamon, dates, swiss rolls, toffee apples, and Port-stained oak.
Finish : Cacao powder, black pepper, and blackcurrant jam.
