The taste of whiskey is a continuation of the aroma and here, first of all, honey, caramel, tones of shortbread appear, then very clearly fruit and almond crumbs; berry tones, raisins, coffee and chocolate nuances and ginger bitterness come towards the end of the sip. Good balance of sweetness and bitterness (it’s not as cloyingly sweet as Dewar`s 12 seemed to me and more fresh, fruity and smooth than Dewar`s 15). The body of the drink, of course, is somewhat liquid, but the taste has a good richness due to long aging and, despite the reduction, allows you to easily find new nuances and overtones in it.
The aftertaste is of medium duration (which is commendable for a blend), slightly dry. Raisins, orange zest, ginger, cloves, nutmeg.
